HOW TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL ACHEIVING YOUR GOALS THIS YEAR

The year is coming to an end and the new year is right around the corner. So, you’re ready for a fresh start but don’t know where to begin. You picked a great time to start over and make this next year the best it can be. There is something about the new year and new beginnings that inspire people to take action. This year you are really going to make things happen.

You plan to start a new exercise routine. You want to prioritize your life and set new goals. You want a better job doing something you are passionate about. You want to focus on paying off your debts and student loans. You want to spend as much time traveling and learning. You want to focus on reigniting the flame of your relationship and making it better. You want to spend more time with your family and less working. Whatever it is that you want to accomplish this year, you can do it and I can help you.

The greatest of all capabilities of a human being is to become born again.

As per the previous quote, you can become new at anytime. This is one of the amazing things about life, with every breath we take, we have the opportunity to begin again and be whoever we want to be. Let’s say five minutes ago I was down about life, unhappy and not sure what to do and in this very moment I can choose to change that and choose to be happy. I have the power and the choice. No one can change me but, me. That is the only true freedom that anyone does have. Power over our own thoughts and actions.

Whatever happened to you yesterday or twenty year ago does not have anything to do with you right at this moment. People tend to think that because they made mistakes or failed in the past, that they can’t move on or do anything about it now. In reality that is the farthest thing from the truth. Our past is not there to keep us from moving forward but, to help us learn from our mistakes and do even better the next time we try. It is the evolution of human growth to get better with every time we try something again. We fail to success.

Ask any successful person how many times they failed before they got it right and I think you will be surprised by their answer and how many times they actually failed. You probably never hear about it because they don’t talk about it. They just shrug it off and try again. They already know there will be challenges and that they’re going to fail but it doesn’t stop them. They learn and grow from them. Successful people know that failing is part of the process. You can never be successful if you quit at the first bump in the road. It is okay to make mistakes and you will most likely fail the first time but, if you stumble, just make it part of the dance. Get up and go again.

Try again. . . Try again. . .Try again.
I can do it. . .I can do it. . . I am successful.

Let this be your success mantra.
Keep reminding yourself that success takes work and it takes a few, maybe even a lot of times to get it right. Speak positively to yourself,  like you are already successful. When you think like you know you will have it, you are more likely to get what you want.  You are already setting yourself up to make it happen just by the way you think about it..

This Is called The Law of Attraction.

I want every day to be a fresh start on expanding what is possible.

There is no one way to define success for everyone because success doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone. To one person success could mean having a happy family with a good job and a steady paycheck. To someone else success means making a six figure income, own only the most badass of cars, buy a nice yacht, everybody knows your name and maybe even have a couple of ladies (or gentlemen) on each arm. Being successful to others could mean being financially free and being able to travel and do whatever they want with their time and not have to worry about money. Success can even mean to simply be happy and content in your life no matter what you are doing and regardless of how much money you have.

So you see, It really doesn’t matter what you want out of life. As long as you have an idea of what success means to you, you can obtain it. Anybody can be successful. It does take work. It does take some thought and it does take some planning to make your dreams a reality. Successful people don’t become successful overnight. They work their butts off. Most people don’t see the work that they put in but, they certainly see the results.

With success comes challenges. Life can throw curve balls your way and you may encounter some obstacles from time to time but, with the right attitude, motivation and even mentor, you can be as successful as you want to be.

So where do you begin? How can you be more successful at being successful? How can you better your chances at making your goal a reality where you failed before? I have a few tips that help me keep my sanity and stay focused on the mission so I can be as successful as possible. Here are some ways to help you be successful at reaching your goals and doing what makes you happy.

Delegate help. Even the most successful of people have needed help on their journey to the top. We all know that life gets crazy and from time to time everyone needs help. I have needed help many times in my life from family and friends and I have also helped many people many times in my life. There is a reason why they say “it takes a village” because it does. It is okay to ask your friends and family for a little help. The people who know how tough it can be and have needed help are the ones most likely to help you. That is what we are all here for after all, to help one another. Enlisting the help of others with a chore or an errand here and there can take a lot of weight off your shoulders. Maybe you just need an hour or so away from the kids to focus on work or a project or even just be alone to refocus. A friend or family member could grab a few items for you while they are at the store. It could be anything. Anything that makes it easier to accomplish your goals. Just remember to return the favor. Other people will need help too from time to time and you can be that awesome friend that came through in a time of need. When you take the time to give someone a helping hand they will remember you in your time of need. Don’t be afraid to ask for help here and there when you need it. It makes us feel better when we help others and we all get a lot more accomplished.

Boundaries. With that said, when you give of your time freely it can be easy to get taken advantage of. In order to stay healthy mentally and physically, and still get your goals accomplished be prepared to say “no” when you are unable to help. Don’t feel guilty when you are already over scheduled with chores and tasks. Your time is precious and you have to create balance with the amount of time you give to others. It is great to help others and be flexible with your time but you also have to have boundaries so that you don’t get worn out. If you can rearrange some things to be there for someone then great but, if it hinders you from accomplishing what you need to accomplish, then just be honest and say you can’t. You have to make time for yourself and stand your ground when you simply can’t do something for someone else. People may not like to hear no but, it is the only way to stay sane when the world is pulling you in a dozen different directions. Sometimes people may not even realize how busy you are and you just have to politely communicate. Boundaries are important because they let people know what we simply won’t tolerate and most people will respect this. Make time for yourself. Make sure that you are reaching your goals and not letting others distract you from your purpose.

Prioritize your life. What do you want?
What is it that you really want in life?
What makes you happy?
Hmmm. . . Take some time to think about this.

Once you know what you really want in life and why you want it, you can focus on going after it. You can prioritize your life accordingly. You can get rid of the things that are holding you back and focus on the things that build you up and help you reach your goals. The truth is that you have to balance and align your life to reach the places you want to be. You can’t have things in your life that prevent you from reaching your goals and expect a successful outcome. If your priorities are not in order it can take a lot longer to make it where you want to go. Get rid of the clutter. Get rid of the shiny things that distract you from doing what needs to be done now. If you like to party but, you have to work and go to school during the week, you may want to think about only staying out late and drinking excessively on the weekends. You can still have fun but, in moderation. There has to be a balance between work and play and you have to decide what that balance is for you.

I suggest reading How to get what you want in life and create your own reality for more inspiration and step by step information on creating the life you want.

We all have desires and goals that we would like to fulfill in life. Some people will accomplish their goals and some won’t. The difference between the people who do get what they want and the ones that don’t is their “why”.

Your “why” is what drives you. Why you do what you do. The most successful people have a really important “why” that drives them. Maybe they were raised in a poor or abusive family and they made a vow to themselves that they would never live that way again and would make something of their life. Have you ever read Tony Robbins’ biography? He had a pretty similar “why”. He is one of the most successful motivational speakers and authors. He came from little, with a rocky family life and had a big enough reason to change his life and create his reality to fit what he truly desired. He is a great inspiration.

Maybe you desire your freedom so greatly that working in a cubicle your whole life for minimum wage is one of the scariest things you can think of. Being bound to a schedule and rules is the closest thing to hell on earth you can think of. You feel like life was meant to be lived and without boundaries or borders. This can drive you to do great things in life. It is your “why” that will make you successful because you will generally work harder for something when you have a big enough driving factor.

What do you want in life? Why do you want it? What are you willing to do to bring this vision to life?

You only get one life. You only get that life one day at a time and the next day is never promised. So what will “you” do with this day that “you” have been blessed with? What will you do to fulfill “you” today and prepare “you” for success tomorrow?

Focus on the things that make you happy. Help others when you can. Create balance to keep your sanity. Focus on your “why” and don’t get discouraged when you fail or fumble. Enjoy every moment of the process because it is part of life. We soar. We fall. We get back up. We learn. We try again. We repeat the process. We get better every time and if you allow yourself, you can have fun and enjoy life for what it is. You are already successful just by reading this and taking the first step to bettering your life. You are as successful as you think you are. I have a feeling that 2016 is going to be a great year for you.

I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. In each, it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one’s being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes, in some area, an athlete of God. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.
