Apple, Pecan, Blue Cheese Salad and Fall clean up

For dinner tonight – I made the most magical salad that I got from The Pioneer Woman along with a yummy Italian pork roast. It was so so good. I am trying to explore more recipes that I may not normally make. I am glad I tried this salad because it was beautiful and colorful and full of wonderful surprising flavors. A very Fall-like dinner.
Salad | spring mix • thin gala apple slices • pecans • dried cherries • crumbled blue cheese.

On a different note , I was sweeping up these giant beautiful sycamore leaves that litter up my yard and porch every year. I feel it in the air. Fall is on her way. I love the changing of the seasons and the way the earth transforms with them. It is so symbolic to the human cycle and the changing seasons in our lives. The sycamore tree sheds not only most of it’s leaves but also giant strips of bark and even bigger tree limbs that simply break off and fall to the earth. I have to patrol the yard before I mow and pick them all up. It is always enough to start a small bonfire. It’s amazing how much of itself it sheds each fall and by Spring you would never know that it was ever completely barren by how full and beautiful they become.

Anyone can love a rose but, it takes a lot to love a leaf. It’s ordinary to love the beautiful but, it’s beautiful to love the ordinary.
